Commercial Pilot License (CPL)
A Commercial Pilot License (CPL) authorizes a pilot to act as pilot in command for compensation on aircraft used in commercial operations, subject to type ratings and operator requirements. CPL training typically requires more flight hours than PPL and additional knowledge exams. Many students complete ATPL frozen theory exams during the CPL phase.
